The Real Presence of Jesus Christ in The Eucharist

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is the adoration of Jesus Christ present in the Holy Eucharist. In the many Churches that have this adoration, the Eucharist is displayed in a special holder called a monstrance, and people come to pray and worship Jesus continually throughout the day and night. . Can we not give Jesus one hour of love and adoration each week in return?
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration
has been ongoing twenty fours a day, seven days a week for almost thirty years in Macroom
(In the building to the right of the church)
The door is always open to everyone, day and night, or if you would like to commit yourself to one hour a week
Phone 026-41477

Adoration now during Covid is in the Main Church every Tuesday from after 10 am Mass to 8pm

Today 10th of July 2024
Our beloved Parish Priest Canon Bernard Donovan, was laid to rest just in the gate of Cloughduv Churchyard

********

Canon Bernard Donovan, a native of The South Parish, was ordained on November 9th 1974, at The Reparation Convent, Summerhill South, Cork, in the chapel where he had served Mass as an altar boy.
After ordination he served for a time in St. Patrick's Parish, Cork, and in the following year, he was appointed curate at Gurranabraher.
Between 1979 and 2003, Canon Bernard served for 15 years during three terms on the Cork and Ross Diocesan Mission in Trujillo, Peru. In between, he was curate in Carrigaline (1986 1992) and curate in Clonakilty (1998 2000).
Following his time in Peru, he was on sabbatical in the US for a year before returning home to be appointed Parish Priest of Schull in 2004. His ministry was later extended to include being
Administrator of Goleen.
In October 2008, Canon Bernard was appointed Parish Priest of Kilmurry Parish and came to live in Cloughduv. In September 2022 he was appointed Co-Parish Priest in the Family of Parishes of Bandon, Enniskeane and Desertserges, Innishannon / Knockavilla, Kilbrittain, Kilmurry and Murragh and Templemartin.

May he now rest in the peace of the Lord.

We would like to hear from Kilmurry Parishioners who are now living away from the parish - exiles near and far - from Macroom to Melbourne, from Ovens to Oregon.

If you tell us something about yourself, where you are now, what you are doing, news of your friends and family (those with you now and those you have left behind) we will be delighted to publish it.

Hopefully we will end up with an interesting list of entries which would be both useful and entertaining.
